Our home is located on the east coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i in the Puna district. We're just a few minutes from the coastline, where you can catch sight of the sea turtles that swim along the coastline or see humpback whales during their southern migration season from Alaska to Hawai'i from December through April.

Our home has a cottage feel. The bedroom downstairs has a queen sized bed and there is a king sized bed in the loft upstairs that can also convert into 2 twin beds if necessary. Additionally, there is a futon in the downstairs living room that can accomodate 2 more sleepers. There is a full bath downstairs connected to a laundry room and a full bath upstairs connected to the loft. The living room and kitchen are cozily furnished in Hawaiian decor and natural woods. The door off the living room opens onto a covered lanai. Starfruit, bananas, figs, guavas, papaya, and pineapple grow in the garden right off the lanai.

The "Hilo side" of the island is known for its local hospitality as well as its lush foliage. It boasts two amazing Farmers Markets, one in the town of Hilo on Wednesdays and Saturdays and one in Maku'u on Sundays. During your stay on the Hilo side of this versatile island, you must make sure to visit at least one of these Farmers Markets to delight your nose and tastebuds with some
real Hawaiian delicacies. The area also hosts natural markets as well as conventional grocery stores, all of which offer unique Hawaiian products as well as standard fare.
